Terms of use
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms apply to the MergeJudge GitHub App and hosted service ("the service"), offered free of charge by Gaurav Sharma (see Impressum). The open-source runner is licensed separately under the MIT licence; these terms do not change that licence.
1. The service
MergeJudge reviews pull requests in repositories where you install the GitHub App and posts its findings as comments. It is free of charge. Features may change, and the service may be limited, paused or shut down at any time; we will try to give notice on this site where we reasonably can.
2. Who can use it
You need a GitHub account and must follow GitHub's terms. Only install the app on repositories you are allowed to grant access to. If you install it for an organisation, you confirm you may do so on its behalf.
3. Your AI provider key
AI reviews run with your own provider key or through the runner. You are responsible for your contract with that provider, its terms, and any costs it charges you. We store your key encrypted and use it only for your reviews. You can replace or remove it in the panel at any time. The key is deleted when you remove it, or when you uninstall the app.
4. Your code and content
You keep all rights to your code. You allow us to process it only as needed to run reviews and post results, as described in the privacy policy.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to break the law, attack or overload it or GitHub, get around its limits or security, or process code you have no right to share.
6. No guarantees, and liability
Reviews are automated and can be wrong or incomplete. A clean review does not mean code is bug-free or secure. You decide what to merge.
Because the service is free, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. This does not limit liability for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, or where the law does not allow a limitation.
7. Ending use
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend access that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Material changes will be noted on this site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it; if you don't, uninstall the app.
9. Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
